If it is true that God does not give anyone "more than they can bear" than why do people commit suicide?
Never made sense to me because these people could obviously not handle what God has given them.

Perhaps. I learned a long time ago not to speak for God.
Jesus asks us not to judge. I dont judge God because I dont understand Him either. He knows a lot more than I ever will.
I believe that suicide victims are victims. God loves them. I dont believe they are well. Jesus heals the sick. I hope to see every suicide victim in heaven where they will be free at last. They have already been to hell.

Those people can actually "bear with it more". They just chose not to. They did not want to go through it so they went through a short cut.

God gives no one more than they can bear. For a person to know that truth, they must be a believer. Therefore, it's is simple explanation: those that commit suicide clearly do not know what strengths they possess because of God. They simply do not believe in God, and have not taken the time to develop a relationship with Him. .

There are different ways to look at this.
//
God has given people free will, and it is often PEOPLE who - wittingly or unwittingly - give others or themselves more than they feel they can bear. God will not stop a war which may kill a woman's husband, making her consider suicide. God will not stop a person from spending more than they have so that they are so much in debt they contemplate suicide.
//
People who commit suicide do not realize that there are ways out of their situation - ways to make life more bearable. If they would take more time to think, and get help, they would either get out of their situation or find ways to cope with an unhelpable situation. Example One: It's two days before finals and a high-school junior has procrastinated so long he knows there's no way to finish his reports and study for tests and do well. The tension is so great, and the thought of getting through the next couple of days and then dealing with the possible negative results is so great he commits suicide. That was more than he could bear because he didn't realize he didn't NEED to bear it. There were different options: He could have dropped out and/or failed, then started again the next year with tutoring and non-procrastinating from the beginning. He could have done reports and studied the best he could, realizing the next couple of days would be awful but that a ton of work now could at least raise his grades more than they would have been, ask for any extensions or extra credit that's possible, deal with the results, and do better the next year, realizing it's not the end of the world and that each new year is a new opportunity. He could have focused all his studying on some of the subjects, getting good grades in those, and done poorly in only a couple of subjects. He could have realized that academics is not for him and dropped out of school and learned a vocational skill, either happily sticking with that for life or going back to school later if he decided that was what he wanted then. Example Two: Parents are so grief-stricken that their child died of cancer that they feel they can't bear to go on, and commit suicide. They should have taken advantage of any comfort available from relatives, friends, clergy, and support groups. They could have understood that an extreme level of grief is natural, but channeled their grief into a cause, such as raising money for cancer research, or being a foster parent to other children.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
If when the building is on fire, instead of taking the door to the exit you take the door to the boiler room, or the door to the incendiary room, you can hardly blame God now, can you?

That's talking about temptation, and not that "God has given that to them", that God won't let temptation overwhelm them, and God gives them a way out. It's up to them to take it..Been there.
