Why do people still pay a lot of money for commercially recorded minidiscs?

Update:

I have noticed on eBay that minidiscs of albums which were recorded commercially, as oppose to home recordings that were popularly done with minidiscs, still sell for considerably sums despite the technology being quite old and never having caught on. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Do they? I thought the minidisc was a commercial failure at the time they were introduced. Perhaps it could be nostalgia, there is a limited market for that.
