Christians, how did native Americans get saved before christianity came over?
Did they all go to hell Because they never had the chance to hear the gospel? I don't see how this is really fair.

People who die and go to spirit prison have a chance to repent there. 1 Peter 3:19,20

They didn't "get saved"...
but the Bible DOES address the matter of those who lived before Jesus preached the gospel...

and we **might** suppose that a similar option is made available to those who lived later who did not hear the gospel.

Why do you think God is like you ???
CATHOLIC CATECHISM
those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337
848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men

I don't think God would judge anyone for what they did not know

Why do you ask? You don't believe in God! How pathetic that you actually spend time in a forum who's mission statement is totally invalid to you! If you had a shred of decency and respect for people you would not be here.
1) No, they did not necessarily go to hell.
2) Whether you think it is fair or not is fvcking irrelevant. Those are the rules. Tough **** pal. When you're the universe (or greater) level divine creator, you can make some new ones.

God deals with everyone differently. The Native Americans had a "Supreme God" I believe... in addition to their many other ones ( :/ )... Each unique to their own Tribe? That was their downfall. Worship of False Idols. Their "Supreme God" whom i couldn't quite find out in Research but should again, sounded like an almost Jewish name. Some of them knew. This does Not deserve Best Answer... I'm not 100 percent sure on my facts... I'm just assuming that they had a name for the Lord... People say they were a lost Tribe of Israel? I'm no Anthropologist but the info must be out there.

They bowed to the God they saw in Creation.....the "Great Spirit" and Jesus saved them, or they did not and he did not
They didn't need to know God's name, they just had to acknowledge the God everyone sees in Creation
something I am supposing you have failed to do
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
