why parents blame theirs kids for smoking, when blame is pointless if the kid want to smoke nothing can stop him?

    Because it's a nasty habit that is very expensive and hurts your health. Parents should ride their kids' asses on that. They sure shouldn't encourage such stupid behavior. At the end of the day, most parents will not "blame" their kids - but they will not support their habit.
