What is Christianity's view on ghosts?

According to Christianity, do ghosts exist? I know Christianity believes in demons but what about ghosts? I know nobody knows for a fact whether or not they are real but what does the Bible say?

No, the bible does not teach there are ghosts but it does give us an explanation as to why people believe in them.

The Bible teaches that the Creator himself is a Spirit and that his first creations were spirits called angels. (John 4:24; Hebrews 1:13, 14) Further, the Bible mentions wicked spirits, sometimes referring to them as demons. (1 Corinthians 10:20, 21; James 2:19) When God created spirit creatures, he made them free moral agents, able to choose for themselves whether to do good or bad. Sadly, after the creation of humankind, an undisclosed number of angels chose to do bad by rebelling against God.

Though evidently prevented from again materializing as humans and confined to the vicinity of the earth, the demons still have great power and influence over the minds and lives of people. In fact, The bible states that Satan, together with his demon hordes, is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9; 16:14) The bible says they do this by means of the “teachings of demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Cor 4:4) This is exactly what people are experiencing. By means of apparitions, voices, and crafty actions, the demons deceive people into believing that the living can communicate with the dead. Moreover, this clever deception tends to give credence to the lie that a soul survives the death of the body. However, the Bible plainly states: “The dead are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6) Having ‘gone down into silence,’ they are unable even to praise God.—Psalm 115:17.

The goal of wicked spirit creatures is simply this: They want to distract and mislead us from developing a personal relationship with our Creator. They influence people to disobey God’s righteous requirements, whether knowingly or unknowingly, and the bible teaches us that spiritism leads to divine disapproval, hopelessness, and eventual destruction.—Revelation 21:8, Deut 18:10-12; Galatians 5:19-21.

Many may feel that involvement with the spirit world is harmless, even beneficial. They may speak of so-called friendly ghosts or claim that spiritistic practices can lead to enlightenment, riches, or happiness. This could not be further from the truth. There is a price to pay.

I think this is just a very subjective belief. I think there are Christians who do believe in ghosts, like me as I'm a Christian & I believe in ghosts, but then there are other Christians who do not believe in ghosts.

Very little, but there are passages that at least imply that ghosts happen under certain conditions.

In one account of the crucifixion, the souls of the dead rise and enter the city and appear to many. You could interpret that as these are spectres or ghosts. One hint is the statement that they "appeared to many." People supposedly saw them, but did not report further interaction? It's a very tenuous point, certainly.

Saul calls the dead prophet Samuel up from the dead. Is he seeing THE prophet, or is he seeing a ghost, a spectre, of the deceased prophet? I think most people would say he is seeing a ghost.

We are surrounded by angels who are spirits, there are ones who are for God, and those who are against Him. The departed souls of humans, do not stay here, whether saved or unsaved. The Bible talks about familiar spirits (fallen angels who are familiar with you and your ways), and tells us not to get tangled up with them. Unfortunately, it is easier to open a door, then it to close that door once it is opened. The only way to subdue them is with the infilling and help of God's Holy Spirit. Ask Him for His help in His name.

There are demons. A lot of accounts of ghosts are actually demons manifesting.

A witch claimed to be speaking to a dead Samuel. That did not end well for Saul, who asked the witch to do this.
