why is my cat limping?

when i got home from school today my cat was fine but a few hours after getting home i noticed he was limping. his front right paw is hurting him and i don't know why. i checked it to see if there was a splinter but there's nothing. whenever i touch his paw he bites me signifying it hurts. what should i do

    It could be a claw injury. My cat had cracked his in half so we took him to the vet and they said we could either romove it or let it heal naturally. It could be this or the bones in his paw/ lower leg.
