Mother needs to hold hands with grown children?

Is it common for a mother to hold hands with her grown up children at a wedding?

My experience is when the mother is having medical issues and needs extra support.

    Moms get emotional at certain times. Medical issues mean that one may need some sort of physical support. She is not asking for a piggy back ride so hold onto Mom.
