any repair that happens will occur in a few days, but the problem with alcohol is it damages the tissue which is then replaced with scar tissue .. eventually the organ degrades ..

I remember a party that made me sick for a week. I honestly felt like it was a life reversal. But it didn't stop me from drinking again less heavily each weekend. . eventually I went to AA and stopped.

Several days. There will be a small amount of scar tissue, but once or twice won't hurt you in the long run unless you already have a health condition. It's consistently doing this over time that cause serious damage. That's why it's dangerous to think "oh I'm not in danger, I don't drink every day, I just like to have a few every weekend or something" Sure that's not textbook alcoholism, but it's still not a healthy thing to do. You're better off drinking every day if it's just a glass or two of wine, rather than killing a fifth or tequila in one night every other weekend.

Your body recovers and goes on... but it is NEVER fully repaired. EVERY TIME you drink, you destroy cells in your body (and your brain).
