It doesn't matter much- the cost for replacing just the input shaft is pretty steep.

I had an input shaft failure in a transmission once, the labor and parts for a transmission shop to fix it exceeded the cost of a low mileage transmission from a salvage yard.

Hi soif a shaft breaks off how are you going to drive it. ?????????/.

Yes it can damage a lot if things.

The usual reason for such a failure is increasing engine power and abuse of the drive twain. Such as burnouts.

I don't have an input shaft because I drive an automatic, so no. If you're wondering about your input shaft and not mine, the proper wording is "If MY input shaft breaks, can it damage any other parts of MY transmission?" Got that? Good. Proficiency with English can help you in life.

Normally it doesn't break, the bearing wears out. If it did break other damage is a likely possibility.

Bearing or case damage is possible. Busted the output shaft on a TH450, took out the back half of the tranny.
