Why aren't all those guns "keeping us safe"?

The 2nd Amendment is failing because the original purpose is gone. The British and the Natives aren't going to invade anymore. If the British did invade, a gun won't keep you safe from a tank

The second amendment was written in its form so that the government would not only have the guns to force the people to do things, Unreasonable taxes or join the army or impose laws that were unreasonable on the people. It was a safety clause in a time when Kings rule and did things without approval of a group of our peers, like the Senate and House of Representatives. It had not worked at all in any country, true Democracy. The Amendment has not failed. We have democracy as best we can. The failure is in regulating and watching for abuses of having guns. I am a supporter of gun rights with reservations. When the amendment was written there were only muskets and cannons. I do not see a need to have semi auto weapons at home.

Actually guns are keeping us safe. There are plenty of instances where guns are used for good and save people but arent typically covered in mainstream media because instances where guns are used for bad often occur in more populated areas where its much more likely to get people to call in on it and speak about it. Along with this its a much more newsworthy story if an innocent man walking down the street was shot to death by a psychopath rather than a bad man who had it coming gets shot trying to rob a responsible gun owners home

The 2nd Amendment isn't failing us. Closing our Mental Institutions DID.

Because we have 43 million blacks in America, that's why, moron.
