So he's dictating his TV watching time and bedtime. You're worried about not coddling him enough. Good luck.

I think you should be watching TV with him just to monitor what he is watching and set a reasonable bedtime, like an hour or two later on weekends.

he needs a bed time on the week ends too. Is he going to sleep within 2 hours of going down? What is he watching? I would say go to bed leave the light on and read for awhile after regular bed time.

6 yr old should to be allowed to sit up and watch TV. Bed times and routine are very important for kids.

He should not stay up more than an hour past his usual bedtime. Have a timer set for the TV so he can't watch it too long.

You mean you're letting him stay up watching tv past YOUR bedtime?

The problem isn't that you're not keeping him company, but that you're letting him stay up that late in the first place.

you dont know what he is watching or how long he is up. let him stay up for a little longer normal and take him to bed.
