Stop trying to write this report off the top of your head.
Do the research.
By the way, the Food Stamp program did NOT begin to help low-income people eat better. It began as a way to subsidize FARMERS - to make sure they could sell their crops and livestock products, by ensuring that more people could buy them.

you need to carefully define "welfare" because many federal programs associated with those in financial difficulty are not welfare. SNAP (food stamps) is not welfare, it is a Department of Agriculture program to subsidize the food industry by stabilizing market prices. Unemployment is not welfare, it is an insurance account paid into by the worker and former employer. Disability is not welfare if it is workplace related, again that is an insurance program paid by the former employer. Social Security is not welfare, its benefits are payback of money paid by the recipient. Medicare is not welfare, again workers pre-pay the premiums for Part A when working and pay the premiums for Part B and D once retired. The Obama phones, more correctly called Reagan phones because he is the one that started the program, is paid for by users of the telephone and cellphone network. Even Section 8 housing assistance is NOT paid to the poor, it is paid to the landlord directly. About the only Federal program that provides any money to the poor is TANF which is by definition temporary.

You need to find a better college with a real curriculum or you will end up with a nothing degree. You only have a few years to make something of yourself.

Crime would soar in America, particularly shoplifting as people steal just to put food on the table. Death by starvation would also increase and so would suicide. Theft from the rich would increase 10 fold. Serious protest and savage protests would be a daily occurrence as people with nothing to lose go on the rampage to get stuff they need to survive. How about you ban all aid to rich bankers who were handed trillions of tax payers dollars to bail them out by G W Bush the war criminal instead. You would have a great deal more support for doing that, believe me.

People would find jobs, get up in the morning, and go to work to earn the money they need to care for their families. Oh, horrors!

the same that happened before the government got into the welfare business. Churches and charities took care of those in need. What has happened is the gov't has prevented many from helping the poor because they want the poor to depend on the government and not those who only want to help and don't demand loyalty for that help.
We survived the great depression and years of low employment without food stamps and free housing and could do so again.
Unfortunately we have a culture that thinks they are owed a living and would revolt if that assistance was removed rather than working to help themselves.

That only happens in third world countries.

We'd be a LOT BETTER OFF.
