I do not know of a church that teaches that?
The Bible teaches that no one can be good enough to enter heaven.
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. (Eph 2:8,9 NIV)

If that is what they teach, then they teach incorrectly.
We are not, and cannot, be reconciled to God by "being good".
No one is 'good enough' to stand before God on their own merits.
When we "go to heaven" we go to God's presence.
And only those who seek and have been reconciled to God enter and remain in God's presence.
Which is the work and the offer made in Christ.

If that's what your church taught you it's wrong. It's anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus, believe that he died and rose again on the cross for our sake. And those who are born again and do God's will.
Not one of us are 'good'. We are saved by the love of God.
