Is it possible for an overweight guy to go without food or water for 40 days?
Because I know someone personally who is on day 24.
But how is that possible?
With the power of God!
Yes you have to be real careful with this kind of stuff and are able to hear real clear from God to do that

Nope. You can live without food for a goodly length of time, although malnutrition would likely kill you within three or four weeks. But water? No. This person you know is a liar. Water is a requirement which one has to fulfil within a few days, three at the most.

That skinny dude Ghandi did 21 days. An overweight dude can do a lot more.
Wanna impress me?
Submerge him underwater for 20 minutes.
Post the results back here.
Why is it that superstitious people prematurely claim god during events that are totally within the limits of possibility?

Water only, we can survive but not 40 days! He'd be dead now without water. When they do it in hospital it takes around 14 days to die.
He'd be $hitting water by now!

That's not a good idea. Losing weight comes with some permanent lifestyle changes. Not just doing something for 40 days.

so yes a person can go without eating...BUT. no they ca not go 24 days without water.......3 days maybe 4 and thats it....the human body can not go that long without water...now your friend can go that long without food as long as he is drinking vitamin enriched liquid, maybe bone broths, well most broths would work....but after 3 days and no liquid....your friend is lying to you...even religoius people will lie. every one lies....

I have heard a survivalist's rule of thumb that says you can live without air for three minutes, without water for three days and without food for three weeks.
Remember that is only a “rule of thumb”.
Roughly, that saying is correct for a person trying to survive alone out in the woods.
In a hot desert, a person could possibly die in one day without water, but living in a comfortable home he could live more than a week. (This assumes he is not getting any fluids from food.)
A person trying to survive in the wild may die of starvation within two weeks, depending on the body energy used. A healthy person living in a comfortable home and with water could fast for a month without too much trouble.
► I know two people that have fasted for six weeks with no visible ill effects. It is true that they both were slightly overweight before the fast.
This is not related to religion.

Lol. Religion.
I'm sure I'd be delusional by day 24 too, seeing stuff and hearing stuff that isn't there.
