unless no one applied, your app will be discarded, sorry, those are the rules. if 40 people apply for a job, they need every valid reason to thin out the herd. breaking an application rule is the easiest way to weed out the idiots who do not respect the rules, sorry.

They may accept it. Just wait a week and follow-up with them. If the application was still open, they may still be accepting more applicants.

Just hope they make an exception. Meanwhile, keep looking for jobs and try to be more careful about application deadlines.

Being scared isn't going to change anything. The only thing you can do is keep looking and applying. Maybe the company's deadline was "soft," and they really just wanted to start reviewing resumes this week. In that case, if you are a top candidate, they will contact you. Maybe the deadline was hard and they will not consider any applications that are not date-stamped by 11/4. There is no way for you to know.
