Have you ever lost someone to suicide?

A crowd of people gathered closely in the park,

Wearing colored beads to name the ones they'd lost.

All had come from places where the land was sere and stark,

Or sailed upon the waters where hopes and dreams were tossed.

Orange and green and purple strands, one for each that died,

Sharing hope from deepest sorrow, beacons in the night.

Yet my heart was stricken with sensed grief each time I spied

Someone bearing the mighty burden of a strand that was pure white.

These brave souls releasing doves in their loved ones' names

Made me feel connected to something beyond this;

I grew more wise, and calmer- I will never be the same,

Watching the flocks soar away, happy just to exist.

After being a part of the Walk in Remembrance with Hope for Survivors of Suicide Loss.

    A quote from Holly Kohl er that says, "A man never genuinely gets 'over ... "In the event that you've lost a friend or family member to suicide — regardless of the possibility that you, yourself, have managed .... In the event that you or somebody you know needs assistance, see our suicide anticipation assets.

    Sad poem. No, but I have experienced the pain and shock of attempted suicides. To lose a child this way, must leave you in a permanent state of torture. Nice work LC.

    No. But others will when I commit suicide. Which I plan on doing very soon. With a 9MM.

    Friends who experienced failures attempted;

    there were a few. But also in the attempts, they failed.

    Yes,a few,but I don't ever consider I lost them.

    They are all here in one way or another.

    They also are at peace.

    Yes, I have! Nice poem you wrote! Respect for the dead is very important to me so I won't write a poem in reply because my answers get deleted everyday now and I'd cry over it so, all I can say is sorry and bless the dead.
