Does believing in god is a way to help forget pain in life?

Is not it true that forgetting pain means not alive anymore?

Believing in God and exercising the spiritual principles is the way to stop the negative actions that caused the pain in the first place that's the whole reason to believe in God and to do what he says so you will not experience negative actions that lead to negative circumstances

faith in God can bring hate and reviling, and torment and torture, so if a person truly believes in God they will endure to the end.

its sad that people have to resort to wars and torture to humiliate the righteous. because speaking in general pain comes from those that seek to hurt/harm others.

It heals the hurt....we never forget what happened....but it makes life tolerable to move forward

a lot of this happens when we forgive those who hurt us, a hard but necessary thing to do

No. There are disorders that mask/obliterate pain--age and other factors are considered as well. Are you talking physical pain that can be local and defined in association with a specific disorder; or are we talking of a spiritual pain that is far more difficult to describe but just as immobilizing?

Generally speaking, there is no such thing as human existence without the presence of pain.
