Burning sensation during meditation?
For the past four months I've been focusing on my health eating healthy , lifting weights , running and dropping almost every bad habit I had for years. I decided to start meditating to aid in stress relief to aid in my gains at the gym. For the past week everytime I meditate I feel like my skin is burning but it's pleasant like a hot shower. What's going on with this? I've never experienced this meditating before.

I think it's probably because your awareness is increasing, so you catch on to more of the electrical vibrations that are happening both inside and outside your body... I get that too sometimes. Used to get it like CRAZY when I did lots and lots of Vipassana! (Which reminds me, I really need to get back to a regular meditation routine.. I hereby solemnly vow to do at least 30 minutes per day.)
It can be quite pleasant, yes..? It's really nothing to worry about. With any physical sensation, you just accept it for what it is without trying to change it, observe it for as long as it lasts, and then let it go. Also, one of the challenges is to rise above craving and aversion... To avoid craving more pleasant sensations, and to equally avoid feeling aversion towards unpleasant sensations. I've found, for me, that the latter has gradually become easier. While the former is still pretty damn hard... I'm a total pleasure junkie! But then again, aren't we all? :S

You sound like you are meditating alone, without a guide or counselor to watch over you. That's fine, but now you have questionable skin issues, and you don't have someone to ask about it. First, I think you should see a doctor. What you think feels like a hot shower might be a hot shower or it could be an itchy, swelling feeling as it rises and moves through your body. You should have a dermatologist check out those areas, perhaps there is something near you or in the room that your body is allergic to. Whatever that becomes, Second, you should attend a yoga class, perhaps the position you are meditating in is uncomfortable or can be rearranged to a more healthy position for your body.
