Actress Meghan Markle's engagement to Prince Harry marks a major shift in British royal pairings.Though this engagement is much less unusual than it would have been in previous generations , but its still groundbreaking in several ways.
1)She is colored and divorcee too
2)She’ll be the first American to officially marry a British royal
3) She was raised Catholic.

It isn't especially, but the last time a British prince wanted to marry an American divorcee it cost him his throne, so you can see there are some differences in the modern era. As the Prince of Wales has married a divorcee we are not exactly in unchartered waters, and before Diana (or the Queen Mother) marriage to foreigners was the norm, eg Prince Richard, Prince Michael, the Hanovarian kings, Victoria, Edward VII and George V.
But plenty of European royalty have had mixed marriages and some of those have crossed over into the British RF.

I don't think it is... maybe for the British Royalty since she's divorced and mixed, but it's been done before in the other European Royal houses. Countess Alexandra of Frederiksborg (Denmark) is mixed and there's Princess Angela of Liechtenstein. The Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit had a son from a previous relationship when she married Crown Prince Haakon.
Times are changing, and I think it's wonderful that the royals can now marry the people they genuinely love.
