I just wonder if many Christians visit sites of sects not their own. Why do or don't you?

I study many religions. It's fascinating.

I have no reason to.

Once you found out that 2+2=4, did you revisit all the other numbers? Or did you realize you have the truth and stick with it?

I am a life long member and baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I always go to the church's official website because I trust everything that is there to be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Why would I look anywhere else?

The word 'Christian' means 'Christ-like' or 'Christ-follower'; a disciple.... a disciplined student.

At rebirth (or conversion as you might understand it) a person goes on a learning journey that is akin to being a child again... RELEARNING everything through the lens of scripture.

There are a thousand questions the new Christian asks during this phase. God answers them all. If they don't have the (correct) answer, it's because they didn't ask - they jumped to conclusions.

The first several years I was growing in knowledge and wisdom, and then I felt maturity come on... but that wasn't the end. I'm still learning every day.

That said, I will now answer your question.

A student becomes LIKE their teacher.

Not greater than, but 'like' them.

My teacher is the Life Force that created the galaxies.

There is no one greater than Him.

Why would I waste my time going to learn about the lies other people follow (except to gain amunition against the lie)?

I have filled myself up with truth. I can spot a lie a mile away.

I did / do. I was raised in a Christian Science "sect" and found some disillusion with it as I matured....and went in an extreme opposite direction in pursuing a career in the medical industry. I went on a quest to find a denomination and church in which I felt at home, visiting and exploring in the process. I never found what I was seeking and so have come to the conclusion that I will be forever without a church home, a perpetual visitor; when invited, I'll go; when curious, I'll go, but I will not join or commit to any one church. My beliefs are too eclectic, and I do not want to be ostracized for not fitting the mold.

All that being said, I think I'm among the few exceptions of how Christians behave. Most do commit to one church and stay with that particular denomination; not feeling any great desire or need to explore outside their own.....maybe from a textbook standpoint or secular observation, but that is all.

When I was a fundamentalist Christian I went a few times to other churches like Episcopal and Catholic only because my husband was a musician and often had gigs there.

Other than that, I was too brainwashed into believing everyone outside the church of christ, conservative branch was damned to hell and felt too uncomfortable to go anywhere else.

I got better!
