Co worker is impossible to be friends with?
I recently went back to work full time after taking 15 years off to raise my kids. It s the same place I worked at before I had kids. Anyway, the job is totally different now and this girl who is 15 years younger than me was put in charge of training me. She started 8 months before me. So, obviously when you re new you will make mistakes. Well, she chomps at the bit to call me out on it. The only time she communicates with me is to point out a mistake I made. We ve socialized outside of work a few times at work events, I even gave her a thank you card and gift card for training me, but nothing changes. She is very cliquey with her friends. She s a total know it all. She s moody, and she s also a total suck up to our manager. Truthfully I don t care about being friends with her, but I m getting so irritated with her corrections. I purposely try to be flawless so I don t have to hear from her. I don t know why she s like that but I feel like it s creating a toxic environment.

Congrats on going back to work, I think that's commendable.
It sounds like you've made an effort to get along with her but it doesn't sound like it's going to happen.
I don't think you can ever expect to get on well with her, but you can still be civil. Don't talk to her unless you have a work-related question. Leave her to her business and hopefully she'll leave you to yours. You can try talking to her and asking if you've ever done something to rub her the wrong way but it doesn't sound like you care enough to do that.
