How many Catholic priests are convicted of sex abuse on minors?

How many? Answer...A lot. But I wonder why media attention has waned? Even with a few high profile public criminal cases to stir the pot, so to speak, most have no Idea of the scope of the problem.

In the case you cited the attorney of record for the victims said he was "overjoyed" at the outcome of the Vatican trial. Overjoyed at what amounts to a slap on the wrist? That is laughable.

There is an old saying, "money talks". I wonder since the Vatican has an annual budget greater than most countries and only super powers like China and the United States spends more money, does the power of the Vatican have anything to do with the relative lack of public exposure? I wonder why little or no prison time is ever imposed on the offenders if they are practicing priests? I wonder why many just are moved to another location where the public knows nothing of what these monsters in priests clothing do to children? Just musing.

Last I heard is that our laws can't be used to convict any Catholic priest for molesting a minor! All cases have to go to civil court! The priest that loses has to pay the family an undisclosed amount of money! The priest are then assigned to another area where they can continue their molesting more minors!

The Vatican is its own country so our laws do not apply to any of the Catholic priest! Seems the Catholic priest have a monopoly on the young boys to be used at their discretion!
