It is sort of an alien invasion because people never saw these things before. And they aren't trying to take over the world, they only mean to harm. And the effect on people they harm is sort of like a zombie apocalypse . . . yeah, I know, huh.

The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. 2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. No, of course not. Though I have little doubt that if there was an alien invasion, religious nuts would attempt to reinterpret some of the verses about the Babylonian invasion/captivity to really be talking about the aliens. Nothing like the ol' post hoc rationalization... It is one of chief strategies that keep most people from realizing the Bible is irrelevant ancient fan fiction.

I'm sure if it ever happens, they will post-hoc interpret a prophecy that was about ISRAEL to mean that.
