Where in the Bible does God says that God is a He?

Or do we just all assume that God is a he, and why would we assume God is a he, why would God need a penis in the first place?

It's because for millennia, men were the dominant, superior gender and women were expected to bear children and be subservient! It was ancient man who envisioned God as being male because...well...what else could he be right?

In reality, God is most likely creative energy without form!

in the original Aramaic, it doesn't. the default for English is to use the masculine pronoun when gender is unknown.

besides, most of the world leaders in biblical times were men, so it was assumed that God was male.

He actually has no sex, as He is a spirit with no sexual organs whatsoever.

why does God's gender matter anyways? just one more thing to blame Him for...

    Oh, brother 😛(no pun intended)

In the first place, the Lord God doesn't have a penis, nor a vagina. He doesn't need either.

Second, nowhere does the Bible identify the Lord as a specifically male entity, or as belonging to a gender. He has both of what we humans label as traditionally masculine or feminine characteristics; for instance, strength is usually associated with masculinity and tenderness with femininity.

But the Lord has both masculine and feminine characteristics. At one time or another in the Bible, He reveals all positive human traits. This should not surprise anyone, because GOD created humans--BOTH genders--in His image (Genesis 1:27).

The reason the Bible uses male pronouns to refer to the Lord is simple: human language is limited. But the Lord Himself is NOT limited! He TRANSCENDS all human limitations, including language and gender.

I will ignore your "penis" comment and say ....

The first time that God is referred to as HE in the Bible (which was your question) is in the book of Genesis when HE creates man.

I think it goes something like :

".. and so God created man in his own image.

In the image of God HE created him.

Male and female HE created them".

I know that and I'm an atheist !

To answer your question though ..

Why would God refer to himself as HE ?

It would be ME or I

If god created every thing then god may be both he and she or none of them. God dont need gender. You can call she also.

Personally i think when someone help you in very critical situation then that person is like god for you.no matter its he or she only god.

    Genesis

    Chapter 1

God creates this earth and its heaven and all forms of life in six days—The creative acts of each day are described—God creates man, both male and female, in His own image—Man is given dominion over all things and is commanded to multiply and fill the earth.
