Creationists in USA?

There is a sizeable percentage of "fundamentalists" in the U.S., who take every word of the Bible literally: Eve was created out of Adam's rib; creation took 6 24-hour days, even though "day" is an incorrect translation of the Hebrew word. And God created all the species on earth "as is." And he did it 6000 years ago. They see science as a creation of the devil to undermine these beliefs.

Long ago, the Catholic Church saw the errors of how it treated Galileo. I think they see the scientific explanation of the development of the universe since the big bang as a more awesome story than just waving his hands and creating things in 6 days.

Creationist indicate that it is our Creators that formed the universe and all biological life on Earth,and that the process was synergistic.Evolutionism is not a Science that means any idea is for grabs
