Wasn't it inevitable that somebody would have eaten the fruit of the tree of knowledge eventually?

If Eve had not eaten the fruit, then the tree would have sat there, tempting generation after generation. Somebody else was sure to eat the fruit in the end, very probably a child. Would they not be bound by God's command? Or were children not part of His original plan?

Not necessarily. In the narrative, picking the wrong tree got Humanity banished and then the other tree, and the garden itself, got overgrown and disappeared.

One would assume that if the right tree had been chosen, the bad tree would have disappeared or been removed.

I am not one to speculate or question our Creator. Had Adam and Eve stayed faithful, they would have trained their children to be. It was not until the Devil came that temptation came to the fore. I am just happy that Jehovah is giving us a second chance to do things right as perfect individuals. We have the imperfect man Job who kept his integrity to God while going through pain and sorrow from Satan. And we have the example of Jesus Christ and all he went through, yet kept his integrity to his Father. These examples help all of us to see that no matter what we may face, with the help of God's holy spirit, we can keep our integrity too. We have examples of Jehovah's Witnesses who have kept their integrity although knowing they were to be executed for their faith. They faced living in concentration camps, being sent to Siberia, and inhumane treatment by governments. Some are alive today telling others of their past life under such circumstances. When God's Kingdom takes over earth's affairs (Daniel 2:44) things will be as we have never known. Justice will prevail and love will permeate this beautiful earth as never before except before Adam's rebellion and when Noah and his family left the ark after the flood. I invite you to learn more about what the Bible teaches from the international website, jw.org and Bible Teachings > Bible Questions Answered. If you believe what you learned, you can request your free personal Bible study online or from the next witness who knocks on your door or by visiting your neighborhood Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. There is never a collection taken and all are welcome. Thank you so much for this question.

Eve shouldn't have been tempted in the first place. Satan lied to her about what God said. https://www.harvest.org/know-god/foundations/who-i...

She shouldn't have doubted what God told her. Besides, God had given them plenty of beautiful trees with good fruit for them to eat. She had no reason other than disobedience to be drawn to that one. Anyway, all humans have the same nature to rebel and put our own reasoning above God's, so we don't even need to wonder about future generations. The very first humans disobeyed as expected and we can judge their decision until we remember how we disobey God daily. That's why we need Jesus.

Yep. You'd think an all knowing being would have saw that coming. There are a number of problems with the story. I've always had issue that it was the tree of knowledge of good and evil. There's an order of operations error here. They understood good from evil after eating. In other words, they only understood that disobeying God and eating was evil after they had done so.

Prov. 16:4 "Everything the Lord has made has its destiny; and the destiny of the wicked is destruction."

POSSIBLY OR THEY COULD HAVE ALL BEEN GOOD but the devil was there tempting them...He is a wicked fool.

And Omnipotent and Omniscient God would have known full well that the fruit would have been eaten if he left it there and he would also have had the power to prevent anyone from eating said fruit but he didn't try to stop it at all. Then he acted all upset when they did exactly what he knew they were going to do already.

Jesus is the New Adam and the Virgin Mary is the New Eve. It is good to honor them both by reciting daily and with care the angelic psalter of the Virgin Mary.
