If Jesus is God how could he be exalted to a superior position?

(Php 2:9) Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;

(Heb 1:4) having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they.

    Hebrews teaches that Christ was chosen above the other angels, get it? Christ is not god, it says it right there, you quoted from Hebrews, did you not comprehend what you read?

    Your quotes say Jesus is better than angels, and that God 'exalted' him,

    meaning that God lifted him up high, higher than every (human) name.

    Jesus was a perfect human handmade by God to walk among us.

    Now Jesus is one with the holy spirit.

    He did what his Father did.

    John 10

    33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

    34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

    35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

    36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

    Psalms 82

    6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

    7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

    John 5:19

    19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

    Philippians 2

    5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

    6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God

    John 6:62

    62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

    1 John 3:2

    2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

    That proved that Jesus is not God, sence God is always superior.

    If God is love, and One lived in the flesh perfectly by all His Law with perfect love that exceeded everyone else's attempts to live in perfect love by His Law, then that love exalted Jesus Christ to a superior position.

    1 John 4:8 KJV He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

    9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

    10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

    Because God the Father gave it to him that way. He came from God in the first place.

    God multitasks.

    The Hebrew God has many names - each demonstrating important aspects of God's nature. Having the most exalted name actually demonstrates that Jesus is God. It is a declaration of honour, not a change of nature.

    Earlier In Philippians we are taught that Christ "emptied himself" (made himself nothing) and Php 2:9 is self explanatory. Study the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, I Cor. 15:1-4

    The area in which you quoted Hebrews talks specifically why he was elevated, how, and what that means to us Christians. I would suggest you read further into the book of Hebrews.
