What did you do as a teen that you think your own children shouldn’t do?
What could be done to prevent kids not doing so?
Sorry for posting my update to question late but hopefully more comments will be put forth on how to better educate your kids not to do the things, which you now as an elder think were wrong to be done by you in your teen days.

Hide away and not tell anyone ( parents or another trusted adult) when something really bad has happened like bullying, sexual abuse, online abuse , depression, drugs and alcohol problems, self -harming and suicidal thoughts.
Experiment way out of your comfort zone and have no escape plan EG. go to a house party, get wasted and your parents have no idea where you are, and no taxi money.
Pretend to be a cool person when you're actually pretty naive, and getting taken advantage of. Everything from getting involved in someone else's drama, to hiding a gun.

I don’t my, my teenage years were very weird, I guess I would tell them to go out more and make friends, all I did was sit around at home, watch TV, and ask if my mom was free so we could play monopoly or something.

Quit school.
They know about it, but I promote education more than my parents did. They (my kids) know that was the stupidest thing I ever did. I did get my shiit together though, I took the GED test (got a perfect score) then put myself through school. I have 2 masters degrees now.

Shoplifted, got high when I was too young, and denigrated gay people just because they were gay and I couldn't understand that.

Plenty of things
but I was always honest with my children about the things I did growing up.
I wasnt bad, just stupid and thought I knew it all.
I told them partly to share what I learned and partly so they knew, I was aware of ALL the tricks/lies/stories I told my mother
I have a MUCH better relationship with my children that my mother and I ever had
