Praying, reading and studying the Holy Bible daily helps me to become closer to God and to have a better understanding of the scriptures. I have two Bible Study groups that I follow on TV daily. I am a Christian and I watch "Hope Sabbath School", a Seven Day Adventist Class. I am not a member of that denomination but I do believe they teach from the Word of God. The second one is "Thru the Bible with Les Feldick". This teacher is non denominational but goes into the depth of Scripture like no one else I have studied with.

What did it, is reading the Bible. Which is how it's supposed to be. Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).

    ..,

The truth is that Jesus loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing in Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in Jesus to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven when you die, because you believe in Jesus! It is too late to be saved, after death.

Not a single Frost Giant has been found since Odin promised an end to them and we've covered the entire planet.

    Praise Odin.

Nope. My life's path has been one toward rationality and reason, and not towards fairy tales and magical skydaddies.

While I was doing an in depth study of ancient Biblical text looking for enough scientific evidence to prove the existence of a Intelligent Designer named the God of Abraham I made a discovery. I discovered that mankind has mistranslated some of the scriptures that make up the first five Books of The Bible due to our lack of scientific knowledge to properly interpret the advanced scientific knowledge contained in this ancient Biblical text. This led to mankind's unscientific religious interpretations we still think they mean today. Modern science can now force mankind to reinterpret this scripture back into the scientific text its always been based on.This new scientific translation of this ancient Biblical text will supersede all previous unscientific religious interpretations of this ancient Biblical text ever written or handed down orally. This scripture is unique to and associated with the God of Abraham. Can't say the same about any other god and the scriptures associated with them.

Source(s): The God Yahweh our Intelligent Designer and the missing link in the chain of evolution .

Let me offer you a slightly different take on it - obviously, as an atheist I've never had any such faith, but it still might be instructive. And you're one of the religious people on here who I respect, as you are always civil.

Some years ago I worked in London for a small company in the financial sector. There were two partners, and at my interview it was mentioned, more or less in passing, that they were both practicing Christians and it was hoped I wouldn't have a problem with that. Assuming that it had nothing to do with their business, I said that I had no problem with it at all.

When I started working for them, one thing became very apparent. My direct boss was a man of superb character. When I did something wrong, he had a very skilful way of telling me about it without being unkind, and all in all he was the kind of person I would have aspired to become (I was barely into my 20s at the time). Now, I didn't automatically equate his excellent character to his religion, but it at least made me think - is this what religious faith can do for someone? It didn't prompt me to start attending church or anything like that, but at the very least it gave me pause for thought.

On the flip side, the other boss (the real boss, as he held the majority share of the company) was far more open about his religion than the other partner, and he was what he Brits call a grade-A wanker. A deeply unpleasant man, and this is something I heard from previous employees too. Once, he gave me a job to do but the data which accompanied it was criminally out of date and the result was not what he wanted. Irrespective of the degree to which it was my fault, he verbally abused me in front of the rest of the office. He was also prone to implying that certain of their clients were more valuable because they shared the same faith as him. He was a truly nasty piece of work.

In quite a different way, I found myself thinking : is this what religious faith can do for someone?

So I guess you'd call that one thing cancelling out another in terms of how I viewed religious faith in relation to a person's character.

Jesus sent a life line when I was going under for the third time. There have been many answered prayers also; too many to mention here.
