my power in my apartment have been out for more than 8 hours with no notice! Do I have a right to argue with them when the office opens?
This may be a silly question but my boyfriend thinks I get mad for the wrong reasons or argue too fast but in our apartment the light have been out since 5pm and it’s 5am now. My house is literally freezing and I can’t even take a shower! I also work from home. The office was closed so I couldn’t contact them. The hallway lights outside of our apartment works so it is just our apartment our neighborhood said their lights have been off for 2 days now and they still haven’t fixed it. NOT ME. I’m literally ready to go in tomorrow morning and give them a piece of my mind do I have a right to be upset? P.S I can’t be as patient as my neighbor.

Your bf is right, flying off the handle will not help anything. You have no right to yell at them for not fixing something they do not even know about!!!! Your landlord is not clairvoyant! You need to seek psychiatric help for your anger issues. Sounds like to need to leave dealing with the landlord to your bf.
Most apartments have an emergency maintenance #. You should have called it last night. AGAIN - they cannot fix something they do not even know is broken!
Do you know if the neighbor told the landlord about it either? Even if they did the landlord could be waiting for an electrician to come. They are usually not available same day.

If there is power in the hallway then there is power to your building. Find the breaker box and flip your circuit breaker back on. It is usually in the basement or garage.

Contact the utility company. The landlord has NOTHING to do with it & listen to your bf more often

You can always argue. It will accomplish nothing. Have you called the LL? There has to be an emergency contact. Or you could locate and check the breakers.

Check your Rental Agreement/Lease - you should paying for your own Electricity and if you do - it seems you failed to pay your Power Bill.

Did you pay your power bill? Call the utility provider first to be sure your account us current. If not, you'llhave to pay what you owe to get it turned back in.
Or, check all of the breakers in the panel box to be sure they are all on.

The first two thing to do, now, without waiting for the office to open would be to
1) call the power company, because they do answer phones 24-7 and can tell you if they turned off the power to your apartment because you hadn't paid their bill.
2) check the circuit breaker panel in your apartment and see if the switches are all in the on position. Sometimes, they can switch off automatically, due to overloading or a malfunction.

Common sense says to call the power company. Posting here will not do anything.

Do you think that the apartment management turned off the electricity just to mess with you? The outage likely has absolutely nothing to do with the management company. Call the utility company to find out why the electricity is off and when they expect to have it restored.

Sounds like you like arguing......maybe you should find the emergency number and call, as there is always a way to contact 'the office' out of hours and to report an emergency...... but if you choose to wait until they are open then maybe you need to report the electrics out as an emergency fix...... you get more from others if you do/day the right thing, blaming the office and 'giving them a piece of your mind' doesn't help at all, it is not their fault and until they know it has happened they can't arrange for anything to be done to fix it
