A shroud of Turin question.?
John 19:40, "Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in STRIPS OF LINEN. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs."
John 20:5-7, "He bent over and looked in at the STRIPS OF LINEN lying there but did not go in. Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the STRIPS OF LINEN lying there, as well as THE CLOTH THAT HAD BEEN WRAPPED AROUND JESUS' HEAD. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen."
My question is "Where does the shroud enter the scene?"

Ironically, even if they claim that the Shroud of Turin matches the description of a "strip" of linen (it doesn't), they still miss the plural which existed in the original.
AND they miss that bit about a separate cloth being wrapped around the head. Separate, not part of the other wrappings.

The shroud of Turin was carbon 14 dated and found to be only 700 years old. It could not be the real one used by Jesus.

The shroud of Turin enters the picture before the linen strips that were used to wrap the body of Jesus if you will read the Bible you will see that Joseph of Arimathea begged the body I've Jesus from pilot took him down from the cross and wrapped him with a large piece of linen then he took him to an unused to and they closed it it was Sabbath. The next day the women came with spices and myrrh add strips of cloth to properly enbalm the body.
The large white linen cloth was the very first thing that went around jesus's body not strips of linen they didn't have time for that it was Sabbath Jesus spent the first night just wrapped in a big sheet that's what we called the shroud of Turin

I know, it's odd, but if you believe the shroud is real you have to believe that the Bible is wrong.

The "shroud of turin" is a fraud. It is more garbage from catholicism.

It never happened. The Romans never allowed criminals to have a tomb.
Joseph of Arimathea is a fictional character. The Shroud of Turin is fake.

Most translations don't say "strips" but say "linen cloths." Jewish tradition was that the dead body be shrouded. It was one cloth that folded over the body back and front. It is certain that a shroud (the shroud of Turin) was used in Jesus' burial. There's no reason to suggest that the shroud was not one of the "linen cloths." And there is no reason to think that it wasn't there if it wasn't mentioned.
