What genre is the bible?

The bible is what is called "Faction” A fictional story set in a factual time and place. Thus the time, place and real historical characters are all correct but the fictional characters and stories are not!

In addition to the correct list of genres listed by dewcoons, it is a unique collection of writings inspired by the Holy Spirit, with a precise use of words that is staggering. It is also a mystery book because it contains both mysteries and secrets that are only revealed by the Holy Spirit to those sincerely searching its pages to learn the mind of Christ, for the entire collection points to Christ. The Bible itself warns readers that their view of God is what determines their understanding, or their misunderstanding, of God and His word:

"To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity. To the pure you show yourself pure but to the wicked you show yourself hostile. You rescue the humble, but your eyes watch the proud and humiliate them." Psalm 18:25-27 & 2 Samuel 22:26-28 NLT

"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from his sight." - Hebrews 4:12-13 NLT

We are tested by God every time we read His word, as to whether we are pure in motive and humble in spirit, seeking His truth or if we are out to ridicule God and His holy word. The latter are on the highway to hell but if they humbled themselves under God's mighty hand, they would be spared.

The God of Abraham designed the Book of Leviticus as a advanced science Book that mankind mistranslated into the unscientific religious Book we still think it is today. I know all this because I am the one who discovered it and can now reinterpret this Book back into the advanced science Book it's always been.

More than one.  It is a collection of 66 different texts of different genre.  Includes 5 books that are a combination of history and legal law texts.  Several books of straight history.  Poetry books.  A book of 150 song lyrics.  A set of erotic love poems.  Social commentary.  Prophecy.  Biographies.  Letters written to different groups explaining the theology of the Christian faith, and mote.  It is not one single genre.  It has over 40 authors, each with their own writings styles.

The word of Jehovah God written over a period of Circa 1600 years by 40 penmen or what we term secretaries, as they were borne along by Gods holy spirit, 2 Peter 1::20, 21; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17. It is available in many languages and translations and the contents from the first complete Bible to the most recent modern version remain the same, only the author of it Jehovah, could ensure it would be available and understood for all this time despite all the attempts to destroy it and keep it out of the hands of everyone; history shows how some were burned at the stake, Bibles burned and the Churches were behind it. God himself ensures his word the Holy Bible remains!
