Yah∞ Politics: For you, what is more important: religious freedom or lgbt rights?

Today, here in Brazil, the Supreme Court is judging the criminalization of discriminatory attitudes against lgbt, having as religious opposition claimming that this law will end their freedom of religious expression. What do you think about?

First, that's Brazil, not the US. Second, I fail to see how it violates your religious expression if you sell the occasional cake to a gay couple. How does that in any way prevent you from practicing your religion? No where in the Bible does it say "Don't sell anything to people you don't like."

They are BOTH equally as important.

The way to settle that is look at is it a public or private thing.

For example - if you have say a coffee shop opened to the public, you have to serve them period - But if that coffee shop is only open to members of a specific private club, the club can accept or deny anyone they want for any or no reason......

That depends on what the lgbt right are and what the religious rights are.

How do you criminalize an attitude? I'm not sure I understand that part.

Anyhow, there's an old saying "the right to swing your fist stops where my nose begins". Religious groups have the right to express themselves until they start infringing on the rights of other people. Members of the LGBT community should have the same rights as everyone else.

  • It isn't a religious "freedom" to discriminate against others.

    Or to **** little kids.

I add that because so many religious people seem to claim ******* little kids is god's will.
