Why did I gain 1kg weight despite eating less and moving more?

I am not a person who you'd say an obese, but I admit I am no health buff. At 30, I was diagnosed with gout (hereditary thing) and was adviced by the doctor to lose weight because it will help.

I ate less food (I increased my fruitd and vegetables) and even started small work outs (lunges, crunches, some cardio so long as my affected foot is not aching). People told me I appear to be slimming, I could also feel my clothes loosing up just a bit (they still fit, but not as tight as before), and my beer belly is smaller than before.

After a month, I was hoping to shed a bit of weight, but I weighed 1 kg heavier than last month.

Is there any other reason of weight gain?

It's possible Water weightor stress but if your working out it may b as simple as muscle mass weighs more than fat. You can lose 4" around the waste but gain 2 k weight because you have more muscle. If steady gain pay closer attention to ehst your eating, ess carbsmore protien easy on salt.

Muscle weighs more than fat. If your clothes are looser, you're burning fat. The number on the scale won't reflect it because while you've burned of fat, you've built muscle at the same time.

The regimen needs a longer duration forof results.

Source(s): I been vegetarian well pescatarian for a week and I started again yesterday. Two bowls of cereal and milk for breakfast snacked on one tiny piece black licorice and three sourdough pretzel snacks. And lunch a bowl of leftover salad. So two days of seven to go for my second week. I had shrimp yesterday.

You've taken only one single measurement before and one single measurement after? 1kg is not a significant difference, this could be for petty things such as having been to the bathroom just before the first measurement. So you can only say that you weigh the same weight, within error bars.

Anyway, maybe the lunges did make you build a bit of muscle (crunches and cardio shouldn't contribute much) to replace your lost fat, that's perfectly possible.

Most likely water weight. Stay off the scale and start measuring yourself.. Also pleaseeee stay away from high Carbs.. Try to eat less than 40 grams of carbs a day. No sugar, no bread.. Anything white just throw it AWAY!!!
