For a 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage de coupe, 1.5l automatic. Transmission problems.?

I m an idiot and left the transmission speed sensor unplugged after working on the car, started it up and drove around for a bit and the transmission now refuses to shift out of first gear under 40mph and to get out of 2nd, 55mph. I ve since then plugged the piece back in and still drives broken haha. If this can help me narrow down what kind of damage I ve done to the transmission, I could possibly repair it. Maybe I ve trashed the whole transmission, maybe I just need to replace the shift solenoid. Fluid levels are fine.

If the "D" or "N" shift indicator light is flashing you have an electrical control problem with the tranny. You need a mechanics scan tool to read the transmission codes. A bad input or output speed sensor can cause your problem.

Read the tranny codes and then erase them. You might get lucky and only need to erase the codes.
