The US President has the power to pardon anyone he/she wishes. Is this a power any elected official should be permitted to have?

    No, and there are even some Prez pardons that are very questionable.

    Republicans use pardons as a means to cover up their crimes. Iran Contra is a prime example. I believe there should be strict guidelines for granting a pardon and they should be revokable if it is used to usurp justice or hide other crimes.

    Its a power that has never yet been abused to benefit a sitting president. Untll it is, i cant see that it requires review
