Kentucky or Tennessee?

Hello Internet. I intend to move our family out of my home state in the frozen north to a more agreeable climate. Due to a myriad of reasons including proximity to family I have narrowed it down to either Kentucky or Tennessee. Looking for reasons from people who live/have lived in either state. Discuss.

I'm from Kentucky (Louisville). Kentucky is marginally better than Tennessee. Of course, that's kind of like saying being shot in the stomach is marginally better than being shot in the lung. The climate is hellish, especially summers. And the people are even worse. I visit family once per year and then flee back north.

I've done limestone caves in both with the National Speleological Society.

I did buy property thereabouts over a cavern. After it had swallowed one

50 foot high telephone pole. Like Florida both states have more than

frequent subsidence events that eat property. To my delight but allow

reader some disquiet at prospects. My advice is to stay close to the

Mississippi River to avoid a hole discovery.
