Tightness in throat?

Thanks for taking the time to read this, my mum is in her 50s and she has just told me she feels like someone’s choking her, not too tight but like as if there’s food stuck in her oesophagus and it feels like a heartburn but she doesn’t think it’s to do with food. A few days earlier she felt dizzy. She said she does not feel pain but she gave me an example on what it feels like, she said it was like when you eat really fast and you can feel the food stuck somewhere. My mum smokes a lot but for the past month, she has given it up, thank god. Is there anything she can do, is it urgent? Or does she just need to take a rest? By the way my mum works a lot in my house everyday(cooking cleaning dishwasher clothes floor paperwork) so there’s a lot of stress on her mind and she has high blood pressure.
