Lump in Throat Feeling ?

So maybe three weeks ago I burned my throat on some hot coffee. There was some pain and I felt an immediate lump in my throat. After about three days it kinda went away. Then I took a hit out of a bowl and the lump immediately returned. After about a week I went to the doctor who told me I had post nasal drip, could that have started from the burn? Now I am feeling a sore throat and even with the prescriptions I still feel the lump. Will this ever go away?
