Is being a camp counselor worth it?
So I’m asking in the sense of college and if it looks good for college. Like I know people who work at a fast food place etc. since it’s minimum wage and camp counselors usually don’t get paid great, but I’m more doing it for college, and I also think I want to go into the psychology/education field so it makes sense right. Im probably going to get another minor job for the school year but I’m just thinking I’m more concerned with college than money now so I could be better off for the long run.. it makes sense right?

Being a camp counselor would probably help you get some experience with kids which might help you decide on your major. From an admissions perspective, it really doesn't matter. College admissions staff are primarily focused on your GPA and SAT/ACT scores. Then they look at the specific classes you took. Then they look at your extracurricular activities including summer jobs. A summer job of any kind indicates that you have some ability to follow directions and manage your time -- both of which are helpful in college.

It is not going to make much of a difference on college apps. That you work during the school year will look good. You can work and keep up grades.
But working as a camp counselor really isn’t going to add much to your application even if your intended major will be education. It will be a very minor plus. It will be more for you. Giving you a better idea of what kids are like and if this field is right for you. Don’t do it for the sole reason you want it on your college applications. I worked at a summer camp teaching dance, it was fun. Only do it if you want to.
Your grades and ACT/SAT matter the most.

I think it's a great idea (full disclosure: I was a camp counselor for three summers in high school).
If you are interested in going into education, it's definitely a better choice (income aside) than fast food. You're getting experience working with children.
College acceptances aside, your experience will give you an edge for internships and future jobs working with children.
Not to mention it's much more fun to be playing "Red Rover" and doing art projects with a bunch of kids than making fries in a hot kitchen and cleaning nasty toilets.
