Along with national stats as others have said, theres more subtle and easier to find markers. Does the school have a building for that major? That signifies it's a big deal. My school has a computer science building and it's one of our top majors. Also you can usually check how many students are in the major. The more students, the bigger, and usually the better, that major is at that school.

There are rankings. US News and World Report ranks by subject, and although they are usually looking at graduate study, a schools with an excellent program in a field is likely to be very god on the undergraduate level, too. See below.
In addition Psych is a very popular major, and just about any good school has a Psych major that would be just fine, even if it's an undergraduate liberal arts schools rather than a large university.

Do your homework! Check ratings in Barron's Guide to US Colleges & Universities; Business Week, and additional ratings organizations. google-search. You'd get your answer to your question a lot faster if you could do the most basic of internet research then getting answers here, and far more comprehensive info, too. You should be proficient in internet research, even the basics of a google-search, by the time you're in 7th-9th grades. Crucial skill for the college-bound.

There are various sources that rank various programs by school. But really, the "best" program is the one that is best for you. Consider what you want to do with your degree, and look at programs at the schools you might consider attending. See what classes they offer, what types of things their faculty study and do, what opportunities are available, etc.

There's no definitive answer to that, but many major news magazines publish rankings by major. You can find that info online. Of course, if you don't plan to further your education beyond the four year degree, you'll end up working at Starbucks with a psychology major.
