How to fix a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE V6 With Error Code P0440?

Went to Autozone for Check Engine Light 2002 Toyota Camry XLE V6 With Error Code P0440 Evaporative Emission System. EGR Vacuum Solenoid they said Replace Vacuum Switching Valve. How much should this costs? How difficult is it to do?

Is the VSV and EGR Vacuum Solenoid the same part?

Should I replace the VSV first or the EGR Vacuum Solenoid?

Could an old gas cap be the problem?

I wouldn't trust a salesman telling you what to replace. You need to use a smoke machine or do vacuum tests to determine what's wrong with the system.

Go back to AutoZone and buy a Haynes Auto Repair Manual for all the methods and information you need.
