my school has a dress code that says no sweatshirts, but it doesn't say anything about hoodies. so can i wear a hoodie or no?

Yes.  Hoodie is a slag term for a hooded sweatshirt.  If you really want to know, ask an administrator at your school.

Most people would say a hoodie is just a sweatshirt with a hood and therefore it shouldn't be necessary to specify that hoodies fall under the "no sweatshirt" policy.
