My former religion both helped and damaged me. There were good and bad parts to it. It did cause me to deny certain things about myself.

In the end, truth is better than fiction. I am now agnostic.

I got out early enough and taught myself how to think that it never penetrated my brain regarding my sexuality. I think I'm lucky though, most religious gay kids hate themselves.

I feel like it kept me open minded long enough to confirm a few things.

Not sure, my current beliefs are completely unrelated to my religious background growing up

I was raised in a strict fundamentalist home so of course it f*cked me up.

I was taught we are worthless worms and still have a hard time believing I deserve anything good.

As a female I was forced to STFU and be subservient to men even though I had a lot to say. I still don't function well around men.

I can't think of a single benefit from my religious experience.
