You would copyright the game. Copyright protection generally lasts for 70 years after the death of the author

You copyright the game. If there is hardware you need to run that game, you patent the hardware. A copyright generally lasts for the life of the author, plus 70 years Patent law is much more confusing.

You own the rights to the game for 75 years.
I guess you would register and copyright the game.

A patent is for an invention. Submitted with diagrams and drawings. Like a machine. You would want a copyright for intellectual property.
