A metaphor to describe what would happen to Jerusalem and the temple in 70 AD

The apostles had asked Jesus the signs leading up to these things - including the destruction of the temple:

Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, >>>There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.<<<

Mat 24:3 ¶ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?

Vultures gather and consume dead bodies, and the Roman armies camped out around Jerusalem. They cut off all food, water and supplies in to the city and camped for weeks, slowly starving the citizens. And then they attacked, destroyed both the city and the temple - fulfilling OT prophecies

Jerusalem was the dead body and the Roman armies were the vultures

Now read all of Mat 24 where Jesus gives the signs for all those events - and read this

    >>>>>>>>Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

NOTE: Jesus made those prophecies circa 30AD - forty years before their fruition.

Jesus was telling the disciples about the end times and they asked "Where will this be" so he told them this phrase.

The dead body is Jesus who died for us, and we are the vultures, vultures eat dead bodies, and we eat the body of Christ and drink his blood.

So when Jesus comes, all those who eat his body will gather to him.

If you want the exact location, it will be in Jerusalem.
