What was the hardest part about being single as a teenager? ?

I'm 26 now, so I've moved on, but sharing experiences is fun.

Boys didn't ask me out in middle or high school. Adults would ask me if I was dating. I would have to tell them no, but pretend like it was OK. It was awkward and embarrassing. I think they asked, because despite being very quiet, I came off as normal. Even as an adult I'm ashamed that I never had a boyfriend in middle or high school.

Not sure why you're walking around ashamed. Some people don't date in school. It's not a crime and there is no law which says you have to date.

You're 26 now, live right now, not in the past.

It’s not as uncommon as you think it is. A lot of teens are fearful, selective, or reluctant to get in the game. Many turn down dates or dating, or worse, they flit around and can acquire a bad reputation or create rumors. Try joining a group, a gym, or something where you can mingle.
