Is it it me or do people just have kids because they think they're like pets?

In my experience many people who have kids only regret or hold off until later, that they really didn't make the wisest of decisions at that time. Stuck raising a lil one is always emotionally/time consuming, but people just don't realize until reality hits them in the ****. These young parents don't know they're unfit, which is why America has such a ghetto fraternity culture with muh "baby-dadd/mommy" rachet type of thing. What are your thoughts on this dilemma of single parenting and having kids without actually knowing how to properly take care of them?
