Who visited China first: the British or the Americans?

I assume, Chinese did it earlier....

I think it was the delivery guys in The Happy Palace, the Chinese restaurant next to my job. They turned the whole country on to Chinese food and chopsticks. 

The Brits did it before there were even any "Americans."

Europeans first visited china in the 16th century, way before the americans.

You're kidding, right. The British were in China before the United States even existed.
