No, you should NEVER talk to your boyfriend about ANY issues at all, ever. The key to a good relationship is to NEVER communicate with each other. That way, the relationship ends far sooner and you can go through your entire life jumping from one bad boyfriend to another because you never actually let each other know how you feel.

Yes, you need to speak to him and tell that it's not all about him and his way.  Just because you're younger, it doesn't mean you're not entitled to have an opinion and his respect as well.  A relationships is a two-way street.

I wouldn't call it controlling, some people just think they are always right and their way is the best way.  It is more being closed minded than anything else.  You could argue it is disrespectful of him and you wouldn't be wrong, because people should be free to make their own choices.  

If he were controlling he would be telling you where to go, what to do, where to work ETC.  And he wouldn't just get mildly irritated if you went against it, he would go into a full out rage.  My EX wife was very controlling as were her parents and this is what happened when you went against their wishes, you would do what they wanted or else.

I think it could be more due to pride and feeling threatened than controlling issues. If your boyfriend had controlling issues then he would be telling you exactly what to do all the time. It seems to be that your boyfriend tends to get irritated when you go against the WAY he thinks things should be done. This would suggest that he likes to think of himself as being smart and a good source of knowledge and that you going against him would suggest that you may feel he is stupid and therefore can't look after you. What you need to do is to reassure your boyfriend that just because you choose to do things differently doesn't mean that you don't hold his opinion in high regard. Moreover, try and emphasize to him that you really appreciate his input and want him to continue providing you with advice in certain situations. I really hope this helps :)

No worries I don’t know the personalities of all of you but it sounds to me like your boyfriend is somewhat manipulative. Any decision made about your son and your own livelihood is your decision to make and he should not be getting angry if you decide against his advice as it isn’t a concern that affects him. If the issue is something really important like moving houses or a matter relating to work I’d understand his attitude because it would indirectly affect him too and I assume he wants this relationship to last forever. If he’s getting upset over small decisions I’d suggest just explaining to him you appreciate his advice but this is YOUR life and you are allowed to disagree with him.
